Dhenkanal, Jan 5: The Maa Katamashuni Melana Yatra, a famous festival, began at Jhadrabandh village in the Hindol block of Dhenkanal district, resumed this year after a six-year break. The yatra had been suspended since 2019 due to disagreements among certain groups in the village. Despite repeated appeals from villagers to the Hindol administration, the festival could not take place during the intervening years.

However, this year, with intervention from the Hindol administration, the festival was allowed to take place after a long hiatus. The local police ensured a smooth procession, with security measures in place to prevent any disruptions. Devotees are gathered in large numbers to witness the event.

The procession began from the village and reached the temple, marking the start of the religious ceremony. The return of the yatra brought immense joy to the villagers and devotees. Hindol Sub-Collector expressed his gratitude to everyone involved, particularly the administration, for making the event possible once again, and thanked the devotees for their support and participation.

The successful resumption of Maa Katamashuni Melana Yatra has been a moment of relief and celebration for the people of Jhadrabandh and the surrounding areas, reinforcing the importance of community unity and religious harmony.
