Here we are, just at the threshold of the most celebrated hours of ‘Valentines Week’.
It is not anything that requires to be glossed over why people take themselves through this week beginning from Feb 7 and spans till Fab14.
It is all about love and love and the wishes to give wings to this emotion in a life that is so ephemeral and so short.
Being in Odisha the main thing is the lovely escape from the clutches of stress and anxiety for a fresh sojourn through a week. That is packed with bliss and passion further cementing the bonds forever.
Couched in the lap of breathtaking spots made of green hills that flow down the slopes in an unending limit offering a great blend of picturesque scenes and luxury for thoughts.
What about a drive into the arms of Koraput, otherwise famous and romantic getaways it offers.
Also known as a paradise of nature, passing through the routes flanked by long stretches of small and big green hills, serenading to the eerie landscapes is just a spectacle found in picture-postcards.
Just that for a Valentine feel
Yes, we are at the foot-hills of a small hill capped by a wonder home or even a retreat virtually with a sprawling expanse dotted with a tiny forest encircling the Heritage that dates back to 88 years.
It was built in 1936- 37 by the Britishers.
Located at a very high peak from the ground, the British era Circuit House speaks volumes about a past wedded to a circuitous glory emanating from the sylvan promontory of nature.
Entering the Circuit House one gets a very different feel and sensation that can only be romanticized.
One, as if, walks down the memory lanes while sauntering the huge entrance and the circularity of which kisses the about 30 ft high roof.
One cannot help but wonder at the marvel that the red cement floors surrounding the middle structure are still intact even after about 85 years. The same glaze and shines on the floors have never been repaired or suffered any damage.
Slowly the dignity of the colonial time builders/ officers unfolds when one enters the rooms. The same gravity, the same architectural grandeur, about 20 ft high walls centered by the old-time ceiling fans, moving unperturbed till date.
Each room has a huge fireplace at one end and the mahogany furniture at the center. The taste breathed into the décor of each bed-room with the same red cement is no where less than any resort for a Valentine Week break.
Surprising that the handles and door knobs are made of brass, neither have been changed nor have they lost the shine.
The back-exit leads one to the beautiful backyard with a pathway for morning walks and at the edge of the backyard there is a sudden and precipitous fall overseeing a vast area dotted with green paddy fields and an occasional sight of villagers working on, in their usual colored attires.
Redefining Romance in Valentine week
The place under description not only redefines Romance for a Valentine week but it has all-in-one like a place like any resort, unending rows of mountains surrounding the virgin hills.
Secluded from the hotels or posh hotels, what else can surpass such a paradise with mountain retreats, these kinds of resorts set the stage for love to blossom amid unparalleled beauty and tranquility.
