Bhubaneswar, Sep 13: Due to a low-pressure system in the northwest and adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red and orange warning for select areas in Odisha.
Under the influence of the low pressure, heavy rainfall is likely to occur in the next 24 hours. South Odisha, north Andhra Pradesh and Chhattisgarh are likely to experience heavy rain.
The Met department has issued a red warning for six districts of Odisha. The warning has been sounded for Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Bolangir, and Kandhamal while Orange Warning ( Heavy to very heavy rainfall) very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nuapada, Sonepur, Boudh, Nayagarh, Khordha, Puri, Ganjam, Gajapati, and Rayagada.
