Rawalpindi, May 8: The Pakistan Super League (PSL) clash between Peshawar Zalmi and Karachi Kings was rescheduled after major parts of the pitch at the Rawalpindi Stadium were damaged due to a violent drone attack.
The incident occurred few hours before the scheduled PSL clash today where both the teams were almost ready for the fight.
It has also been learnt that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is contemplating to shift the remaining PSL matches to Karachi or Dubai in the wake of the growing geopolitical tensions in the country, thus ensuring the safety of the players participating in the international match.
“The Pakistan Cricket Board, in consultation with all the stakeholders, has decided to reschedule tonight’s HBL PSL X match between Peshawar Zalmi and Karachi Kings.
However, the PCB will announce the revised date in due course,” PCB said in an official statement.
PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi reportedly met the foreign players in the PSL.
According to sources, the match between Peshawar Zalmi and Karachi Kings might not be possible today within a short interval.
The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) conducted an emergency meeting to assess the security of players amid the warl-like situations in Pak.
