Ravenshaw Univ Website Hacked Again, Redirects to Betting Site!

Cuttack, Jul 28: The official website of Ravenshaw University in Cuttack has reportedly been hacked, sparking alarm among students and faculty. Instead of the usual academic interface, users are being redirected to a suspicious betting platform titled BENTO4D, which appears to be in English but written in a foreign likely Indonesian format.

The breach came to light late Sunday night when students and staff attempting to access the university's website were unexpectedly taken to the betting page. The redirection is occurring across both desktop and mobile devices, rendering the university’s services including access to certificates, academic records, and portals completely inaccessible.

Frustrated students voiced concern over their inability to download essential documents and use academic tools. More worryingly, many fear that sensitive student and institutional data may have been compromised in the apparent cyberattack.

This is not the first time hackers have targeted Ravenshaw University. A similar cyberattack occurred two years ago. Despite investing over ₹2 crore in a high-performance Blade Server six years ago meant to support secure access for over 8,000 students the university appears to have fallen short in maintaining robust cybersecurity defenses.

The latest breach raises serious questions about the effectiveness of the university's digital infrastructure and its preparedness to prevent recurring cyber threats. As of now, the university has not released an official statement regarding the incident or the extent of the breach.
