Bhubaneswar, Oct 24: ‘Ravan Podi’, the last leg of Dussehra celebrations was held in Odisha amid great fanfare on Tuesday evening, commemorating the triumph of good over evil.
In Bhubaneswar, a large number of people visited puja pandals and gathered to celebrate Dussehra.
Ravan Podi, the burning of huge effigies of the demon king Ravana with fireworks, was held at six places in Bhubaneswar -Jharpada, Baramunda, Naharkanta, Koradakanta, Chhatabara, and Tamando.
Adequate police and firefighting arrangements were made at these six places, Deputy Fire Services officer Abani Swain said.
He added that several restrictions have been put in place with regard to burning firecrackers during the Ravan Podi events.
