Puri, June 30: Rituals surrounding the sacred Darubrahma at the Janmabedi and the Chaturdha Murti at the Adapa Mandap are underway as part of the ongoing festivities at Gundicha Temple. Following the ceremonial first offering of "Adapa Abadha" to the deities, the sacred Mahaprasad is now being distributed to devotees.

In the morning, the Suara Mahasuara Nijog made arrangements to serve Adapa Abadha to approximately 20,000 devotees. This distribution will continue until Navami (the ninth day of the lunar fortnight), temple authorities confirmed.

Special facilities have been established inside the Gundicha Temple to ensure that devotees can partake in Mahaprasad comfortably. Strict measures are also in place to regulate the pricing of Abadha, with officials emphasizing that no price hikes will be tolerated. Devotees encountering fraud during the purchase of Abadha have been urged to report such incidents promptly.

Meanwhile, darshan of the deities will remain suspended for five hours today due to the Banakalagi Niti, a ritual involving the traditional painting and cosmetic touch-up of the idols. According to the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration, public darshan will be restricted from 9:00 PM to 2:00 AM.

Earlier in the day, Adapa Darshan of Mahaprabhu commenced, drawing large crowds. In response, comprehensive security measures have been implemented. Devotees are being allowed darshan in a disciplined manner through a two-line barricaded system, ensuring a smooth and spiritually fulfilling experience.
