Keonjhar, August 4: In a proud moment for Odisha's Keonjhar district, Mayadhar Juang, a social worker from Gonasika Panchayat under Banspal Block, has received a prestigious invitation from Rashtrapati Bhavan to attend the 79th Independence Day celebrations in New Delhi.
The invitation has sparked celebrations not only in Mayadhar's family but across Banspal Block and the Juang community. He is scheduled to leave for New Delhi on August 13 to participate in the national event.
Every year, Rashtrapati Bhavan invites individuals from across the country who have made outstanding contributions to society. Mayadhar's selection is considered a rare honour for Keonjhar district and a matter of immense pride for the Juang community.
Born into a modest farming family, Mayadhar earns his livelihood through agriculture while dedicating himself to social service. Despite completing his education only up to the matriculation level, he has worked tirelessly as a volunteer with the Juang Development Agency for several years.
His efforts have focused on improving education, promoting social awareness, helping tribal families access government welfare schemes, and preserving the rich cultural heritage of the Juang community.
