Bhubaneswar, March 16: The last date for applying for the Common PG Entrance Test (CPET) has been extended. The application deadline has now been pushed to March 18.
According to the Odisha Higher Education Department, students interested in appearing for the CPET examination can submit their applications through the SAMS Portal till 11:45 PM on March 18. Earlier, the last date for submission of applications was March 15.
The decision to extend the deadline was taken keeping in view the larger interest and future prospects of students.
It is worth mentioning that students seeking admission to postgraduate courses for the 2026–27 academic session must appear for the CPET examination. The entrance tests for various postgraduate subjects are scheduled to be conducted from April 27 to May 10.
Admissions to postgraduate courses will be based on the marks obtained in the CPET entrance examination. Meanwhile, the government has set a target to start postgraduate classes in universities and colleges by July 10, ensuring timely completion of the academic schedule, examinations and publication of results.
