New Delhi, Jan 20: The Defence Ministry has announced that approximately 10,000 special guests will attend the 77th Republic Day Parade at Kartavya Path in New Delhi this year.

These guests have been selected for their exceptional contributions in fields such as income and employment generation, innovation, and social welfare. The honorees include top performers from various government schemes, such as self-help groups, start-ups, and individuals who have excelled in different sectors.

The invitation aims to recognize and honor the significant contributions of these individuals to nation-building and to encourage greater public participation (Jan Bhagidari) in national events.

Among the distinguished guests are winners of the World Athletic Para Championship, rehabilitated beggars and transgenders under the PM SMILE scheme, and farmers practicing natural farming. The initiative underscores the government's commitment to celebrating diverse achievers and promoting inclusivity in national celebrations.
