Bargarh, Jan 2: On the ninth day of the Bargarh Dhanuyatra, an emotional scene unfolded when Krishna and Balrama, after receiving an invitation from Kansa, left Gopapur to witness the Dhanuyatra. The sight was truly heart-touching as Radha, along with the Gopis and Gopalas, walked along the path singing and bidding them farewell.

In the mythological backdrop, Kansa, the villainous king, had been oppressing the sages meditating in the Amravana forest, including the revered saints. Meanwhile, in a significant battle with Bhishma, Kansa was temporarily befriended by the mighty sage Narada. King Kansa had previously performed reparation to acquire the deadly Rudra-shula weapon from Lord Shiva, a gift that added further darkness to his tyrannical reign.

As part of the Dhanuyatra celebrations, the devotees witnessed Krishna and Balrama being invited to Kansa’s court, where they were ceremoniously presented with an invitation letter from the evil king. The Krishna-Balrama devotees, including the Gopalas and Gopis, were dearly beloved by the people of Gopapur. Upon receiving the invitation, the elderly minister Akrura ensured their safe passage to Kansa's court while also performing ritualistic prayers in the villages of Gopapur. The departure, marked with sadness and tears, had an emotional impact on the locals, who bid a heartfelt goodbye to the beloved deities.

As Krishna and Balrama made their way to Mathura, they were seen singing the Hare Krishna mantra, led by Akrura. The departure was a highly emotional moment for the viewers, with the streets of Gopapur filled with devotion and deep affection for the divine brothers.

In the midst of the Dhanuyatra, the worship of Lord Krishna was in full swing. Devotees offered incense, lighted lamps, and performed elaborate prayers at their homes, celebrating the divine presence of Krishna and Balrama.

The upcoming scenes in Mathura promised to be filled with spiritual symbolism. The ruler of Mathura, King Kansa, will soon be shown encountering Krishna and Balrama, who are believed to engage in a momentous battle with him. This will be followed by an epic scene where Krishna will touch the feet of the divine maiden Kubja, symbolizing his divine intervention in the lives of all beings.

The rituals and performances during the festival are expected to continue till the 10th day, when Krishna and Balrama’s journey to Mathura will culminate in a warm welcome from the citizens of the city, with celebrations continuing through the night.
