Bhubaneswar, Nov 18: The Odia music and film industry was left in profound shock on Monday as it mourned the untimely death of beloved Ollywood playback singer Humane Sagar at the age of 36.

Humane Sagar, known for his soulful voice and emotional performances, passed away while undergoing treatment at AIIMS Bhubaneswar. The news sent waves of grief through both the music community and his vast fanbase across Odisha.

Tributes poured in from across the political spectrum, with Odisha’s Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati, Leader of the Opposition Naveen Patnaik, and Deputy Chief Ministers Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo and Pravati Parida expressing their heartfelt condolences.

Governor Kambhampati wrote on social media platform X, “I am deeply saddened by the passing of eminent vocalist Humane Sagar. His immense contribution to Odia music and cinema will forever be remembered.”

Leader of Opposition Naveen Patnaik shared his sorrow, stating, “I am deeply saddened to learn of Humane Sagar’s passing. His emotional music touched the hearts of so many. My prayers are with his family, and I wish for his soul to find eternal peace.”

Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo also expressed his sadness, saying, “The untimely demise of Odisha’s popular singer Humane Sagar is a great loss. I extend my condolences to his family and pray for his soul’s peace.”

Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida added, “Humane Sagar’s death is an irreparable loss to the world of art. My condolences go to his family during this difficult time, and I pray for the repose of his soul.”

According to Dr. Srikant Behera of AIIMS Bhubaneswar, Sagar passed away on Monday evening after battling severe health complications. The singer had been admitted to the hospital on October 14 in critical condition, where he was treated for multi-organ dysfunction syndrome, acute-on-chronic liver failure, bilateral pneumonia, and dilated cardiomyopathy. Despite intensive treatment, his condition deteriorated, and he succumbed to his illnesses at 9 p.m.

Humane Sagar's sudden death has left a gaping void in the Odia entertainment industry. Fans, colleagues, and the music world at large are in mourning, remembering him for his powerful voice and the timeless impact he made on the Odia music scene.
