Puri, June 5: The grand Rajendrabhiṣeka ceremony of Lord Jagannath will be conducted today at the Srimandir in Puri. This sacred event will take place post Sandhya Dhoop Niti. Following this, the Madana Mohana Katha will be conducted atop the Madan Mohan altar.
The Jay Vijay Dwara of the temple will be closed, and the Jagamohan hall will be darkened.
After the rituals for Lord Jagannath are completed, a procession will take place, where Madana Mohana will be placed on a decorated chariot. The chariot will be accompanied by various sacred symbols, including a bell, umbrella, Kahali, and Patuas, as it circumambulates the Srimandir.
The Ekadashi Tithi, marking the wedding ceremony of Lord Jagannath with Rukmini, will be conducted following traditional rituals. The temple administration has made extensive preparations to ensure the smooth execution of all rituals.
With a large number of devotees expected to attend, the district and police administration have also made comprehensive arrangements for crowd control and security to maintain a peaceful and orderly atmosphere during the events.
