Bhubaneswar, March 6:In a bid to ensure the uninterrupted functioning of the State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, the Odisha government has extended the tenure of three of its members.

An official order from the Food Supplies & Consumer Welfare Department confirmed that Pramode Kumar Prusty, Sudhiralaxmi Pattnaik, and Hemanta Kumar Mohanty will continue their duties until the ongoing recruitment process for new members is completed.

The Commission is currently managing over 4,000 pending cases, making the extension crucial for maintaining operational stability, especially as the term of Acting President Dillip Kumar Mohapatra is set to end on March 15. Without this extension, the Commission could have faced a potential stalemate, further delaying justice for thousands of consumers.
