Delhi, Aug 14: Acting chief of the Enforcement Directorate (ED), Rahul Navin has become the Chief of the central investigation agency on Wednesday.
Navin has been appointed as the agency’s new Director for a period of two years, said a notification issued today.
Navin, a 1993-batch Indian Revenue Service (Income Tax) official was in the additional charge as ED Director in September last year on completion of the tenure of his predecessor Sanjay Kumar Mishra. He joined the agency as a Special Director in November 2019.
Under Navin, the agency has taken up a large number of sensitive cases of financial fraud and corruption under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) and the Foreign Exchange Management Act violations.
