New Delhi, September 23: Congress leader and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi has written to Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, urging him to implement the 27 per cent reservation for Other Backward Classes (OBCs) in the state and facilitate the clearance of appointments pending under the quota.

In his letter, dated September 22, Gandhi said several students from Madhya Pradesh raised concerns related to education, employment and their future during his ‘Chhatron Ki Gunj’ event in Indore on Saturday.

Gandhi said a major issue highlighted by the students was the delay in appointments linked to OBC reservation.

He urged the Madhya Pradesh government to take steps to implement the 27 per cent OBC reservation and ensure that pending appointments are cleared at the earliest.

The Congress leader said the issue was particularly important for students and job aspirants awaiting opportunities under the reservation provision.
