Rahul Gandhi’s “Hydrogen Bomb” Claim on Vote Rigging

Patna, September 1: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday declared that his party will soon release a “hydrogen bomb” of revelations on alleged vote rigging, claiming that after its disclosure, Prime Minister Narendra Modi would not be able to “show his face to the nation.”

Addressing the concluding event of his Voter Adhikar Yatra in Patna, Gandhi said Bihar had once again sent out a strong message of resistance. “We will not allow them (BJP) to destroy the Constitution, and that is why this yatra was taken out. The people of Bihar responded overwhelmingly, raising the slogan ‘vote chor gaddi chhor,’” he said.

Drawing a sharp comparison, the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha remarked, “Have you heard of anything more powerful than an atom bomb? It is a hydrogen bomb. BJP should be prepared—soon the truth of vote theft will be exposed.”

Gandhi accused the BJP of manipulating electoral processes in states such as Maharashtra and Karnataka, pointing to alleged irregularities in the Mahadevapura assembly segment under Bangalore Central. He also warned Bihar’s youth that “vote chori means theft of rights, theft of democracy, and theft of employment. They will even snatch your ration cards and other entitlements.”

The remarks came after the INDIA bloc leaders joined Gandhi in a march marking the culmination of the Voter Adhikar Yatra, which covered 1,300 km, 110 assembly constituencies, and 25 districts across Bihar since its launch on August 17 from Sasaram.

The concluding “Gandhi se Ambedkar” march in Patna, however, was halted midway by police at the Dak Bungalow crossing, where Gandhi and other opposition leaders addressed supporters.

Prominent leaders who joined the march included Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, VIP chief Mukesh Sahani, CPI (ML) Liberation’s Dipankar Bhattacharya, CPI(M)’s M A Baby, CPI’s Annie Raja, TMC MP Yusuf Pathan, and Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut.

The yatra aimed to highlight what the Congress described as an assault on voting rights through the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar.
