History Made as India U-19 World Cup Win Secured for Sixth Time with Record-Breaking Victory

Fourteen-year-old sensation leads charge in dominant World Cup final victory

It was a day of absolute dominance and record-breaking performances as the Indian colts lifted the ICC Under-19 World Cup trophy for a staggering sixth time. In a high-octane final played in Harare on Friday, India completely dismantled England, securing a massive 100-run victory to reclaim their status as the kings of junior cricket.

Center stage was taken by the incredible 14-year-old opener, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. Displaying maturity and aggression far beyond his years, the young prodigy played an innings that will be remembered for decades. Sooryavanshi blasted a phenomenal 175 runs off just 80 balls, turning the India U-19 World Cup win into a spectacle of power-hitting. His knock was filled with towering sixes that left the English bowlers helpless.

After India opted to bat first, the team posted a mammoth total of 411 for 9. This marked the first time any team has crossed the 400-run mark in a Youth ODI between Full Member nations. While Sooryavanshi was the clear star, valuable contributions came from captain Ayush Mhatre, who scored 53, and late cameos from Abhigyan Kundu and Kanishk Chouhan ensured the momentum never dipped.

Chasing a never-before-seen target in a World Cup final, England faced an uphill battle from the very first ball. Despite a brave fighting century from Caleb Falconer, who scored 115 off 63 balls, the pressure of the scoreboard was too immense. The English side managed to score 311 before being bowled out, falling short by exactly 100 runs.

Indian bowlers kept the pressure on throughout the second innings. Although England had moments of hope with a blazing start in the powerplay, regular wickets kept the India vs England U-19 final firmly in favor of the Boys in Blue. This victory serves as sweet redemption for India, who had lost the title to Australia two years prior. With this win, the young side has once again proven that the future of Indian cricket is in safe and capable hands.
