Puri, Aug 21: The evil of ragging has raised its ugly head on the campus of Sri Jagannath Medical College in Puri with a first-year MBBS student accusing their seniors of subjecting him to torture.

As per the allegation of the first-year student, some second-year students forcibly shaved off his beard and misbehaved with him. Following this, the Dean of the College discussed the matter with the anti-ragging committee. Subsequently, the college authorities filed a police complaint in this regard.
On the basis of the complaint, a case has been registered and an investigation has been initiated into the ragging allegation.
Puri SP Kanwar Vishal Singh said that the incident is being investigated and legal action will be taken against the students who were involved in it.
