Ragging allegation in Ravenshaw University, 10 seniors asked to vacate campus

Cuttack, July 21: As many as 10 3rd year UG students of Ravenshaw University in Odisha’s Cuttack, were asked to vacate the campus on Saturday as ragging allegations were surfaced against them.

An internal committee formed in this connection also ventured to keep peace on the campus, said sources. 

According to university sources, ten third-year undergraduate residents of the East Hostel allegedly abused a group of newly admitted first-year students verbally.

Annoyed newcomers raised allegations agaist the offenders in this connection.

Acting on it,, the university's Chief Warden, hostel wardens, faculty members, and senior administrative officials rushed to the East Hostel to assess the situation.

Following an internal inquiry, the university identified the ten senior students who provoked the situation asked them to vacate the hostel by Sunday evening. Meanwhile, the parents and guardians were informed of the incident and the disciplinary actions initiated against their wards.
