Bhubaneswar, March 15: The Odisha government on Sunday announced financial assistance for the families of two people who lost their lives in the Nor’wester (Kalbaisakhi) took place in Karanjia area of Mayurbhanj district.

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi expressed deep sorrow over the untimely deaths and announced an ex-gratia of Rs 4 lakh each for the bereaved families.

The compensation has been sanctioned from the CM Relief Fund.

Expressing grief over the mishap, Mayurbhanj District Collector Hema Kanta Say informed that families of the deceased will receive Rs 4 lakh each as financial support.

The Chief Minister has instructed the authorities to provide free medical treatment to those injured ones in the nature’s fury. Local officials have been asked to closely monitor the situation and extend all possible help to the affected people.
