Bhubaneswar, August 10: Puri-Hatia Tapaswini Express on Thursday reportedly faced a fatal accident in Odisha as the speeding train tossed an ambulance violently.
The incident took place at a level crossing near the Bissam Cuttack area in the Rayagada district this afternoon.
Sources said the Puri-Hatia Tapaswini Express was speedily passing by the Bissam Cuttack level-crossing in the afternoon. Meanwhile, an ambulance came on its way all of a sudden. Following the incident, the ambulance was thrown out of the track and was left damaged.
Being informed, GRP and Railways officials rushed to the spot and took stock of the matter.
An enquiry was promptly initiated to ascertain the reason behind the incident.
