Puri, July 17: The three holy chariots of Puri Rath Yatra that were stalled on the Bada Danda( Grand Road) on Thursday due to onset of the evening, will be pulled in the morning today.

Shree Jagannath Temple Administration(SJTA) Chief Administrator Dr. Arabinda Padhee informed it in a crucial meeting with the servitors and key stakeholders on Friday.

While reviewing the preparedness for the 2^nd day of the Rath Yatra, Dr. Padhee mentioned that the three Raths were stalled on the Bada Danda much before the Saradhabali due to the scores of rituals strictly followed and meanwhile for the onset of evening.

Pulling of the three Raths will be resumed by 9 PM following the essential rituals, scheduled to be performed on the holy raths, when the deities will continue their journey toward the Gundicha Temple,their aunt’s abode, Dr Padhee added.

Worth mentioning, Lord Balabhadra's Taladhwaja chariot came to a halt at the Market Chhak, while Devi Subhadra's Darpadalana stopped at Marchikote Chhak. Lord Jagannath's Nandighosha moved only a short distance before the day's procession ended.

On the other hand, tens of thousands of devotees lined on the Badadanda to have a glance of the deities onboard the decorated Raths,that’s considered as a sacred deed during someone’s life-span.
