Puri, June 2: Puri police on Sunday detained four fire-cracker peddlers in connection with the Narendra Pokhari fire mishap.
The Kumbharpada police have picked the illegal firecracker traders from the Gop and Charichhak area in the afternoon for interrogation, said sources.
As per the information of Health & FW Department another two persons died today due to the tragic fire mishap in Puri that claimed as many as 13 lives so far.
The District Collector, Puri has taken steps for payment of Rs 4.00 lakh each towards ex-gratia assistance to the next of kin of deceased persons. Presently 17 patients are under medical treatment in different Hospitals.
The situation is being closely monitored by the Government, said a press release issued by the SRC.
