Puri, Jan 27: President Droupadi Murmu will visit Puri on February 3, where she will offer her prayers at Puri Srimandir. This marks her fourth visit to Puri since assuming office. The visit has triggered preparations at various administrative levels, with a crucial meeting scheduled in the afternoon to ensure smooth arrangements.

The meeting, to be chaired by Chief Administrator Arabinda Padhee, will involve senior officials from the district, including the District Collector, Superintendent of Police (SP), and representatives of the SJTA. The primary agenda will include discussions on security measures, temple arrangements, and the President's visit logistics. The meeting is scheduled to take place at 4:30 pm.

During her visit, President Murmu will first proceed to the Panchatirtha Pushkarini (Shwetganga), where she will perform pind-daan rituals. After completing the religious rites at Shwetganga, she will head to the temple to offer prayers to Lord Jagannath. Special arrangements will be made to welcome her at the Singhadwar (main entrance) of the temple, and she will visit the Garbhagriha (sanctum sanctorum) to offer her respects to the deity.

The President's entourage will also include her family members, and the temple administration will present her with Mahaprasad and a token gift, which will include a piece of the Lord's sacred attire as a mark of respect.

This visit follows her previous visits to Puri, including her first visit after taking office in December 2022, and her participation in the 2024 Rath Yatra and the Navy Day celebrations in December 2024. President Murmu’s visit to Puri is an important event for the region, drawing considerable attention to the cultural and religious significance of the Jagannath Temple.

Preparations for her visit are in full swing, with focused efforts on ensuring cleanliness and the completion of any pending infrastructural tasks around the Shwetganga Pushkarini, as well as road and temple maintenance.
