Bhadrak, Sept 4: Authorities in Bhadrak district, Odisha, imposed prohibitory orders on Wednesday around a college in Chandbali to prevent potential clashes between supporters of the BJP and BJD, according to officials. The orders come ahead of the foundation day event at Motta Plus-III College, which could see tensions due to the presence of BJP leaders Manmohan Samal and MP Abimanyu Sethi, while the local BJD MLA was not invited.

Bhadrak Sub-Collector Manoja Patra issued the prohibitory orders under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) within a one-kilometer radius of the college. This area includes Kheranga Bazar, Nalgonda Bazar, Digachia market, and Motto market, with restrictions in place from 7 a.m. Wednesday to 7 a.m. Thursday. The orders limit gatherings to no more than five people.

SDPO (Chandbali) Kartik Mallick reported that there is heavy security around the college, and the Bhadrak SP and DIG Dr Satyajit Naik are closely monitoring the situation.
