Bhubaneswar, Feb, 13: Congress leaders Priyanka Gandhi and Sachin Pilot will visit Odisha soon to address several election rallies as a part of the party’s attempt to boost its chances in the upcoming Lok Sabha and Assembly polls in Odisha.
Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Sarat Pattanayak informed about the visit of Priyanka Gandhi and Rajasthan Congress’ poster boy Sachin Pilot.
Pattanayak said details of the program of these two leaders will be worked out in the next two to three days. A massive rally of women is being planned for Priyanka either in the western or southern region. Besides, they may also campaign in some Assembly constituencies for individual leaders, he said.
He also added that Congress MP Rahul Gandhi may visit Odisha again this month.
It may be noted thatT the visit of senior leader Rahul to the state as part of the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra has strengthened the party. Before that, the visit of Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge to Bhubaneswar, where he addressed a massive rally, has also enthused party workers and leaders, he added.
Pattanayak said that the party has also lined up several senior leaders to campaign during the elections. Stating that the interest of common people towards the Congress has increased, Pattanayak said Congress's performance in the state will improve.
. The Congress which ruled Odisha for over four decades has been struggling to come to power since 2000. It has nine members in the 147-member Odisha Legislative Assembly and one Lok Sabha member.
