Bhubaneswar, Nov 10: Odisha Vigilance today arrested Professor (Dr) Sudarshan Behera, Principal, Government Ayurvedic College and Hospital, Bolangir for amassing properties worth crores disproportionate to his known source of income.
The anti-corruption agency so far has traced one residential building located at Sakhigopal,, onee double storeyed building located at Sriramchandrapur, one building at Sorisiapada, as many as 28 plots in prime area of Bhubaneswar and Gop, Pipili, Satyabadi of Puri district., three four wheelers , bank deposits and household articles worth around Rs 19 lakh.
“After thorough search, inventory and further enquiry, the income, expenditure and assets of Behera were calculated and he was found in possession of disproportionate assets which were 113% in excess of his known sources of income,” said an official.
The Vigilance on Thursday raided seven places linked to Behera to unearth assets disproportionate to his source of income on the basis of search warrants issued by the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar.
