Bhubaneswar, January 7: Cold-wave conditions gripped various places in the State on Tuesday night, leaving people shivering.

G Udayagiri in Kandhamal district, clinched the crown of being the State’s coldest place at 3 degree Celsius. Capital city of Bhubaneswar recorded minimum temperature of 10.2 degree Celsius on Tuesday.

While 23 towns recorded minimum temperature below 10 degree Celsius 38 towns recorded minimum temperature below 12 degree Celsius in the State.

The minimum temperature at Semiliguda was recorded at 4.1 degree Celsius followed by Phuilbani at 5 degree Celsius, Rourkela 5.1°C, Jharsuguda 5.4°C, Daringibadi 7°C. Kirei 7.4°C, Keonjhar 7.6°C, Chipilima 7.7°C, Sundergarh and Bhawanipatna 7.8°C each, Angul 8°C, Korpaut and Bolangir 8.5°C each, Baripada and Dhenkanal 8.6°C each, Ranitala 8.8°C, Nabarangpur 9.5°C, Cuttack and Sonepur 9.6°C each, Balasore 9.8°C, Sambalpur 9.9°C and Rayagada 10 °C.

Dense fog and shivering cold conditions have disrupted normal life across the State in last a few days.
