Bhubaneswar, Sept 11: President Droupadi Murmu on Wednesday presented the ‘National Florence Nightingale Nurses Award’ for 2024 to Sanjukta Sethi, a Nursing Officer at Malkangiri District Headquarters Hospital. Sethi, who serves as the in-charge sister of the operating theater, also plays a key role in mentoring Skilled Birth Attendant (SBA) training in the district.
Additionally, she is a member of the District Quality Assurance team and supervises biomedical waste management. Her dedication has been particularly noted for saving the lives of accident victims. Sethi was one of 15 nursing professionals honored with the award for their outstanding service.
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and Leader of Opposition Naveen Patnaik congratulated Sethi on receiving the prestigious award.

Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Naveen Patnaik also wish Sethi and wrote: “My best wishes to Sanjukta Sethi of Malkangiri District Headqarter’s Hospital who has been honored with the National Florence Nightingale Nurse Award for outstanding work in the field of healthcare. This is a matter of glory for the state. Wishing her more success in the coming days.”
