Bhubaneswar, Mar 7: The administration of the Lingaraj temple has meticulously prepared for the smooth execution of the upcoming Mahashivratri.

Scheduled for 10 pm on Friday, the raising of the mahadeepa atop the temple has been finalized by the temple administration, indicating the end of devotees' fasts.
To ensure a safe and incident-free celebration, a meeting was convened by the temple administration, focusing on the timely completion of all Mahashivratri rituals.
Every effort has been made to adorn the ancient shrine, dating back to the 11th century, while the city police have deployed additional forces to manage the expected crowd effectively.
Biranchi Narayan Pati, President of Brahman Nijog said, “With everyone’s cooperation, mahadeep will be lifted atop the temple on time.”
In addition, the police have established a control room and provided sufficient parking facilities to facilitate the seamless movement of devotees. Traffic regulations have been implemented in the Old Town area in anticipation of the surge in visitors.
The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has ensured essential amenities such as mobile toilets and drinking water for devotees in and around the Lingaraj Temple.
The temple will open at 3:30 am for the 'alati' and 'abakash' rituals of the presiding deity, with public darshan commencing at 4 am.
Ekamra Prakashini will organize a Bhajan Samaroh program on the temple premises, featuring renowned playback singer Anuradha Paudwal and other artists.
While the temple has been adorned and illuminated for the occasion, the BMC has cleared the surrounding area for parking and a congregation of devotees.
