Bhubaneswar, Dec 6: People across Odisha are continuing a severe cold wave as temperatures continue to plummet in various districts. Mayurbhanj is particularly feeling the impact of the intense chill, with the minimum temperature in some areas dropping as low as 2°C. Villages near the Simlipal forest are facing bone-chilling cold, making daily life difficult.

The Simlipal National Park region has recorded an alarming temperature of 2°C at Uppera Barakamuda, with Chahala following closely behind at 4°C. Gudigudiya and Bareipani have also seen significant drops, with temperatures recorded at 6°C and 7°C, respectively.

The relentless cold is severely affecting normal life, with people finding it increasingly difficult to leave the warmth of their homes. Many have been seen huddling around fire places, desperately trying to escape the freezing conditions.

In addition, Kandhamal is grappling with dense fog caused by the persistent cold. The fog is so thick that it is becoming nearly impossible for people to venture outside before 10 am.

As the chill continues to intensify, locals are struggling to cope with the biting cold, while authorities are monitoring the situation closely.
