In a thrilling showdown, Pramod outperformed his fellow Indian athlete, Nitesh Kumar, with a final score of 22-20, 18-21, and 21-19, securing his position as the champion.
With this remarkable victory, Pramod has added a golden feather to his cap, making it three medals in total, including two bronze medals, in his debut appearance at the Para Asian Games.
Just the day before, Pramod, along with his partner Sukant Kadam, displayed an impressive performance to clinch a bronze medal in the men's doubles SL3-SL4 category. Despite a fierce battle, the Indian duo narrowly lost to the Indonesian pair of Setiawan Fredy and Dwiyoko in a closely contested three-set match.
In another event on Wednesday, Pramod, alongside his partner Manisha Ramdass, also secured a bronze medal in the para-badminton mixed doubles category. Their journey ended in the semifinals of the mixed doubles SL3-SU5 event, but they managed to secure the bronze medal. The Indonesian duo of Leani Ratri and Hikmat Ramdani secured their spot in the final with a 2-0 victory over the Indian pair.
Worth mentioning, Pramod had previously won gold in the singles category and bronze in the doubles category during the 2018 edition of the Para Asian Games.
