Bhubaneswar, Aug 4: Odia actress Prakruti Mishra has made history by becoming the youngest-ever jury member for the National Film Awards. She served on the panel for the 71st edition of the prestigious awards, announced in 2025.
Widely known for her versatility, Mishra has been a prominent figure in both Odia and Hindi entertainment industries for over a decade. She began her career as a child artist and won the Odisha State Film Award for Best Child Actress in 2006 for her performance in Saasu Ghara Chaalijibi.
Her breakout national recognition came in 2018 when she received a Special Mention at the 65th National Film Awards for her performance in the critically acclaimed film Hello Arsi. Since then, she has continued to make her mark across various platforms—films, television, and web series.
In the Hindi television industry, she gained popularity through her role in Bitti Business Wali and appeared on reality shows like India’s Best Cinestars Ki Khoj and MTV Ace of Space 2. In 2019, she was honored with the “Odia Sensation of the Year” award at the Odisha Music Awards.
Her selection to the National Film Awards jury is seen as a significant recognition of her artistic achievements and a symbol of the growing representation of Odia talent on the national stage.
