Bhubaneswar, April 6: At a time when switch-over formulae of scores of frontline leaders of leading political parties in Odisha to other fair-weather and electorally established entities bring sheer confusion among the voters, some party nominees, finalized by the state units have faced acute protest in their respective constituencies from the dissenters during their campaign. The aspirants and rebel candidates in consonance with the party’s ground-level workers wreak ruckus over the reliability and integrity of the candidates seeking change of party faces.
The Jayadev Assembly Constituency which is considered to be one of the significant seats in the outskirt of Odisha’s Capital City Bhubaneswar is now facing an untoward political crisis regarding candidature. Arabinda Dhali who was recently announced as the BJP candidate for the Jayadev Assembly Constituency, is encountering unpreventable protest from the potential BJP Cadres, who have been reportedly strengthening the BJP organisation with their lifeblood.
Hundreds of BJP supporters and key leaders on Saturday hit the BJP state headquarters office protesting the candidature of Dhali from the Jayadev Assembly segment. They questioned the contributions of Dhali to the BJP organisation in the area as he was associated with the BJD since decades. On the other hand, they demanded to declare Satyapriya Behera as the BJP candidate for the Jayadev Assembly instead of Dhali.
As the local BJP leaders were found pleading before the party’s state head office at the Rama Mandir, Satyapriya has been contributing a lot for the party since his association with the BJP. He is one of the popular faces in the Khordha district especially in the Balipatana and Balianta Blocks, for his grass root level network, organisational aptitude and missionary works.
