Nabarangpur, May 9: At least two Maoists have been killed during an encounter at the Raighar forest in Odisha’s Nabarangpur district on Thursday.
Sources said, a number of Maoists raised arms during a combing operation by the Police, BSF and DVF forces in the Raighar forest. Responding to it the security personnel retaliated and initiated wild firing. As a result, two cadres were killed whereas other cadres fled the spot.
Combing operation is underway to unearth the hidden den and dumps of arms & ammunition, said a police officer, leading the team.
