Bhubaneswar, Sept 22: Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has called a six-hour Bhubaneswar Bandh on Tuesday over the assault of Bharatpur Police on an Army Captain and his fiancée.
The Bhubaneswar Bandh on September 24 will be observed from 6 AM-1 PM on Bharatpur case, informed senior leader Debi Prasad Mishra on Sunday.
Adressing a press meet here, Mishra said that the brutality of Bharatpur Police on an Army Captain and his fiancée who is also the daughter of an Ex-Serviceman Brigadier, has created a shockwave across the nation. Odisha police was massively condemned everywhere after the news made headlines in the national news channels and mainstream media.
The BJD following a violent protest raised on Saturday is going to observe the 6-hour Bhubaneswar Bandh demanding justice to the victims i.e the Captain with his fiancée and further stringent action against the accused police personnel.
Emergency services will be allowed and supply of homeneeds will remain excepted during the Bandh, Mishra added.
