​​​​​​​Cuttack, Oct 21: In view of the upcoming by-election to the Nuapada Assembly constituency scheduled on November 11, Odisha Director General of Police (DGP) Yogesh Bahadur Khurania on Tuesday reviewed the security preparedness ahead of the polling.

 In the meeting held at the State Police Headquarters in Cuttack, the DGP underlined Odisha police to workout for a free & fair election in Nuapada. He directed strict compliance with the Election Commission of India (ECI) guidelines, especially ensuring the Model Code of Conduct.

The DGP asked the contingents of police to intensify preventive actions, including the apprehension of suspicious individuals, crackdown on illegal money flow, and the seizure of illicit arms and liquor from the assembly constituency.

The meeting was attended by several senior officers, including DGP (Crime Branch) Vinaytosh Mishra, Director (Intelligence) R.P. Koche, Additional DGP (Headquarters) Arun Bothra, Additional DGP (SAP) Rajesh Kumar, and IG (SAP) S.K. Gajbhiye, among others.
