Bhubaneswar, March 18: The Ladies Forum of Utkal Chamber of Commerce & Industries Ltd.(UCCIL), celebrated International Women's Day in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday.

The event, focused on the significant contributions of women in society, the women leaders resolved that ‘Women Empowerment’ can be seamlessly achieved through mutual supports and inspiring women communities to excel in their own fields of interests.

UCCIL Ladies Forum Chairperson Dr. Bharati Behera inaugurated the coveted occasion beginning from paying heartfelt homage to Dr. Anandi Bai Joshi.

While gracing the occasion, Dr. Behera underlined that women’s interest and their culture of mutual understanding pave the way towards ‘Women Empowerment’.​​​​​​​

Pragnyaditi Dash, Scientist, Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) in her keynote address elaborated the transformative role of nuclear energy in modern India. Das’ speech included socio-economic impacts of Atomic Energy i.e on life science, nutrition and medical science.

Apart from it, Das explained the use of nuclear energy in saving lives with holistic economic and ethical development terming the nuclear science, as a primary driver for a robust ‘Make In India’.

She also highlighted India's roadmap for a "net-zero-carbon emission by 2070" and the ‘Peace Bill 2025’ that works out on promoting public participation and private investments in nuclear power sectors. Meanwhile, she mentioned that the stupendous budget allocation worth 20,000$ for development of Small & Medium Reactors(SMRs) will significantly boost the Nuclear Sector and the fields of renewable sources of energies, that will be a major impetus to do away with carbon- emission ensuring optimum Carbon base-load.

The interactive quiz in the valedictory session encouraged the participants to have a deeper understanding on both the rich & glorious history of women and their futuristic roadmaps in building a prosperous nation.
