Bhubaneswar, Mar 5: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will dedicate and lay the foundation stone of several development projects worth over Rs 19,600 crore at Chandikhole in Odisha on March 5, amid swirling rumours of a possible electoral alliance between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Biju Janata Dal (BJD).
Sources said PM Modi is scheduled to arrive in Bhubaneswar via a special Indian Air Force plane from Telangana in the afternoon. From there, he will proceed to Chandikhol in Jajpur district via helicopter to lay foundation stones and inaugurate various projects spanning oil and gas, railways, road transport, highways, and atomic energy sectors.
Upon his arrival, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the Indian Oil Corporation's monoethylene glycol project at the Paradip Refinery, aimed at reducing India's import dependency. Additionally, Modi will inaugurate a 344-km-long product pipeline connecting Paradip in Odisha to Haldia in West Bengal. He will also inaugurate a 0.6 million metric tonnes per annum LPG import facility at Paradip, intended to bolster import infrastructure along India's east coast.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister will dedicate to the nation the four-laning of the Singhara to Binjabahal Section of NH-49, the Binjabahal to Tileibani Section of NH-49, the Balasore-Jharpokharia Section of NH-18, and the Tangi-Bhubaneswar Section of NH-16. Additionally, he will lay the foundation stone for the eight-laning of the Chandikhole-Paradip Section and dedicate the 162-km Bansapani-Daitari-Tomka-Jakhapura rail line, aimed at not only enhancing existing traffic capacity but also facilitating the efficient transportation of iron and manganese ore from Keonjhar District to nearby ports and steel plants.
