New Delhi, June 17: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday extended his heartfelt greetings to the nation on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha, expressing his wishes for the strengthening of societal harmony and unity.
In a post on X, the Prime Minister said, "Greetings on Eid-ul-Adha! May this special occasion further cement the bonds of harmony and togetherness in our society. May everyone be happy and healthy."
Additionally, PM Modi extended his greetings to the President of Maldives, Mohamed Muizzu, amidst the backdrop of affected relations between the two nations since November last year.
The Indian High Commission in Maldives shared the Prime Minister's Eid wishes in a press release, stating, "On the auspicious occasion of Eid Al-Adha, Hon'ble Prime Minister of India @NarendraModi extended warm greetings to His Excellency President of Maldives Dr. @MMuizzu, the Government, and the people of the Republic of Maldives."
The release further elaborated on the Prime Minister's message, highlighting the values of sacrifice, compassion, and brotherhood embodied by Eid-ul-Adha. "The Prime Minister emphasized that these values are essential in building a peaceful and inclusive world. He also highlighted the celebration of the festival as part of India's multicultural heritage, observed with fervor and gaiety across the length and breadth of the country," the press release mentioned.
