Bhubaneswar, March 10: Akhil Kumar Mishra, ADG, PIB and CBC for Odisha & Jharkhand, visited the All India Radio (AIR) Puri station today. During his visit, Mishra underscored the importance of media in advancing the vision of a Viksit Bharat.

The visit included a comprehensive review of the station's infrastructure and discussions on the challenges facing modern broadcasting. Mishra focused on the impact of emerging technologies and the changing consumption patterns of today’s diverse and fragmented audience. He emphasized the pivotal role of public broadcasters in countering the spread of fake news and misinformation, saying, "Delivering reliable and accurate information remains one of the greatest challenges for journalists today."

Mishra also highlighted radio's unparalleled ability to engage grassroots communities, particularly in times of natural disasters, where it serves as a vital communication lifeline.

The meeting also featured insights from senior AIR officials and local journalists. Key participants included Shri Pradeep Kumar Choudhury, Assistant Director, CBC, Shri Swadhin Shakti Prasad, Media and Communication Officer, PIB, Shri Shilen Patnaik, Station-in-Charge at AIR Puri, and Shri Dillip Nayak, Programme Executive. Together, they discussed the roadmap for achieving aViksit Bharatthrough effective communication strategies.

Several senior journalists from Puri attended the session, offering valuable perspectives on strengthening outreach and communication initiatives.
