Kazan [Russia], October 23: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the BRICS Summit in Kazan, emphasized the importance of maintaining peace and stability along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) between India and China.
Modi welcomed the agreement reached earlier this week concerning patrolling arrangements in eastern Ladakh and underscored that mutual trust and respect should guide bilateral relations.
This meeting marked the first structured interaction between the two leaders in five years, following the 2020 Galwan clashes, and comes after an agreement to resume regular border patrols. Both sides agreed that peaceful borders are crucial not just for their nations but also for global stability and progress.
In a post on social media platform X, Modi reiterated that mutual sensitivity would shape future India-China ties. This interaction follows months of diplomatic and military negotiations to ease tensions along the border.
The renewed dialogue is expected to pave the way for improved communication and trust-building between the two nations, to ensure regional peace.
