PM Modi meets Japanese PM Kishida, Says "India-Japan ties great for global prosperity"

Wilmington, September 22::   In a significant diplomatic engagement, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida on the sidelines of the Quad Leaders' Summit in Wilmington, Delaware. 

The two leaders discussed various aspects of the India-Japan relationship, with a focus on cooperation in key sectors such as infrastructure, semiconductors, defence, and green energy. PM Modi emphasized that strong ties between India and Japan are crucial for global prosperity.

This meeting, held on September 21, marks another step in the deepening of the India-Japan Special Strategic and Global Partnership, now in its 10th year. PM Modi expressed gratitude to Kishida for his leadership in advancing the partnership. Kishida, in turn, recalled his first bilateral visit as Prime Minister to India and expressed optimism about continued collaboration between the two nations, especially as Japan prepares to host PM Modi for an annual reciprocal visit.

 

The meeting also saw the two leaders reaffirming their commitment to working together on various global governance initiatives. PM Modi extended his best wishes to Kishida, who is expected to step down as Japanese Prime Minister following the upcoming Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) leadership election on September 27.
