New Delhi, July 14: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Sunday condemned the attack on US Presidential candidate Donald Trump.
PM Modi strongly condemned the incident and said that violence has no place in politics and democracies.
Taking to his official ‘X’ handle, PM Modi wrote, "Deeply concerned by the attack on my friend, former President Donald Trump. Strongly condemn the incident. Violence has no place in politics and democracies.”
“Wish him speedy recovery. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of the deceased, those injured and the American people,” PM Modi added.
Similarly, Rahul Gandhi said that such acts must be condemned in the strongest possible terms and wished the former US Presidnet a swift and complete recovery.
“I am deeply concerned by the assassination attempt on former US President Donald Trump. Such acts must be condemned in the strongest possible terms. Wishing him a swift and complete recovery,” wrote Rahul on his ‘X’ handle.
Notably, Trump was shot at an election rally in western Pennsylvania on Saturday in a possible assassination attempt, just a day before the Republican Party is set to begin its convention to formally nominate him for the White House.
