PM Modi extends greetings on seventh day of Shardiya Navratri dedicated to Goddess Kaalratri

New Delhi, Sept 29: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday extended his greetings to the nation on the seventh day of Shardiya Navratri, dedicated to Goddess Kaalratri and wished that the blessings of Devi Maa would bring prosperity to all.

He also prayed to her to remove all sorrows and bring new radiance into people’s lives.

Taking to his official ‘X’ handle, PM Modi wrote, “I bow at the feet of Devi Maa! I pray that she will remove all sorrows and infuse new radiance into their lives. May the blessings of the Devi Maa bring prosperity to all.”

It is worth noting that the name “Kaalratri” combines “kaal,” meaning time or death, and “ratri,” meaning night, darkness, or ignorance. Together, Kaalratri symbolizes the power that destroys darkness, ushering in light and wisdom.

Goddess Maa Kaalratri is revered as the most fearsome manifestation, with her dark complexion reflecting her fierce and relentless nature. She is depicted with four arms, embodying both fear and protection.

Her upper right hand grants blessings to her devotees, while her lower right hand provides protection and instills fearlessness. In her upper left hand, she holds a sword, and in her lower left hand, she carries an iron club, which she uses to defeat evil forces.
