New Delhi, Aug 7: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav extended warm greetings on National Handloom Day, celebrating India's rich heritage of handlooms and artisans.
Taking to social media platform X, PM Modi wrote, "Greetings on National Handloom Day! We take immense pride in the rich heritage and vibrant tradition of handlooms across our nation. We also cherish the efforts of our artisans and reiterate our commitment to be 'Vocal for Local.'"
PM Modi emphasized pride in the vibrant traditions of handloom across the nation, pledging support for indigenous craftsmanship and promoting local products.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Yadav hailed the weavers for preserving Indian culture through their work and urged support for self-reliant India initiatives. The 10th National Handloom Day, commemorated at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi, featured Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar as chief guest, with Union Textiles Minister Giriraj Singh and Minister of State Pabitra Margherita attending.
The event honored outstanding weavers with Sant Kabir and National Handloom Awards, highlighting their contributions to sustaining India's handloom traditions.
