Bhubaneswar, Feb 5: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Thursday inaugurated the ‘Ama Sathi’ Unified WhatsApp Bot at Lok Seva Bhawan, marking a significant step towards transparent, efficient, and citizen-centric governance.

On the occasion, the Chief Minister also inaugurated 57 new sub-registration offices across the state, fulfilling the government’s commitment to establish such offices in all 317 tehsils.

With this expansion, sub-registration services are now operational in every tehsil, including the newly opened offices and one additional office in Cuttack. The move is expected to strengthen the state’s administrative framework and improve public access to registration services.

The launch of the ‘Ama Sathi’ Unified Bot enables citizens to access revenue services directly through WhatsApp by contacting 9437292000. Available round the clock, the platform offers over 170 essential government services, eliminating the need for intermediaries.

Chief Minister Majhi said the initiative would help remove middlemen, enhance efficiency, and build greater public trust in governance.

Emphasizing that transparency is the cornerstone of a “Developed Odisha,” he noted that technology-driven reforms are key to effective service delivery.

“People often face difficulties while moving between courts, tehsil offices, and lawyers to resolve complex land-related issues. This digital platform allows citizens to access services from anywhere, saving both time and effort. Through this initiative, the long-standing expectations of the people will finally be fulfilled,” the Chief Minister said.

Eleven key revenue services—including caste, residence, and legal heir certificates, as well as mutation and land conversion cases—are now accessible via WhatsApp and the ‘Ama Sathi’ app. The platform will also enable easy updating of land records in favor of legal heirs and allow farmers to access government schemes and benefits without procedural hurdles.

Reiterating the government’s core principle of delivering services at people’s doorsteps, Majhi said the use of technology would reduce citizens’ burden, save time, and ensure corruption-free service delivery across the state.
