New Delhi, Sep 14: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday conveyed heartfelt greetings on Hindi Diwas and stated that the increasing global respect for Hindi is a source of "pride and inspiration" for all Indians.
Taking to his official ‘X’ handle, PM Modi wrote, “Heartfelt greetings to all on Hindi Diwali. Hindi is not merely a medium of communication, but a vibrant heritage of our identity and values.”
PM Modi also called on the nation to unite in their resolve to enrich Hindi, alongside all other Indian languages, and to pass them on to future generations with pride.
“On this occasion, let us all together resolve to enrich Hindi along with all Indian languages and to pass them on to the coming generations with pride. The growing respect for Hindi on the global stage is a matter of pride and inspiration for all of us,” he added.
It is worth noting that Hindi Diwas is observed annually on September 14 and marks the adoption of Hindi as one of India’s official languages.
This date is historically significant, as in 1949, the Constituent Assembly reached an agreement on the framework for the official language during the drafting of the Constitution.
