Wayanad, August 10: Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a review meeting on Saturday after undertaking an aerial and on-the-ground survey of affected sites in Wayanad in presence of Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Governor Arif Muhammed Khan.
The meeting was also attended by Union Minister Suresh Gopi, State Ministers A Rajan, AK Saseendran, PA Mohammed Riyas, and Kerala ADGP (law and order) MR Ajith Kumar.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister assured all support to the state and survivors in rehabilitation. He also emphasised that the central government will make all efforts to fulfil all state government requests.
Earlier today, the PM conducted an aerial survey of the disaster-stricken areas in northern Kerala, where landslides have tragically claimed over 300 lives.
The survey covered the landslide-devastated hamlets of Chooralmala, Mundakkai, and Punchirimattom. Modi flew aboard an Indian Air Force helicopter, departing from Kannur Airport to Wayanad at around 11:15 a.m.
He was accompanied by Governor Arif Mohammed Khan, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Union Minister of State for Tourism and Petroleum and Natural Gas, Suresh Gopi.
